Tyrannosauridae

Tyrannosaurus |
rex |
We think this is a juvenile T. rex
because of 1) the presence and shape of the accessory trochanter, and 2) this specimen was
collected about 50m east of and on the same horizon as a similarly weathered partial adult
T. rex skeleton. The femur had substantial erosion prior to fossilization -- it was
found in the clay pebble zone at the base of a cretaceous stream. Total length: 50cm.
Restoration to area distal to accessory trochanter. |
